OUR NEW NASHVILLA // a home update

Between life and work and travel and getting married (!!) I kind of forgot to mention that WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! If you follow me on Instagram you've known for quite some time, as we moved in right before Christmas and I've been sharing plenty of pics. But I haven't had the chance to post any updates here, so here goes!

I'll spare you the story of house hunting and get to the good stuff. Don't get me wrong - we loved looking at houses - but once we found our 1929 Craftsman in the perfect neighborhood, the rest was history and it was onto the DECORATING!

Luckily our living room furniture worked great in the new space. I've added a few things (curtains, a side table and a dreamy green velvet chaise) but I was grateful to keep our beloved record player and couch. Obviously, Toby was too :)

One of the first things we did (even before moving in) was paint three major rooms white - the living room, my office and our master bedroom. I'm SO glad we did this because it completely transformed the spaces. We also removed the dated, oversized light fixtures and replaced them with some beautiful fixtures from Schoolhouse Electric.

My office is so bright and welcoming, I just love working in here! My next project is to add curtains and hang some artwork. I would love to eventually redesign the room to feature an L-shaped desk that wraps around and faces outward, but that's a little ways off :)
